Report DM Abuse

Report spambots?

Here to report a bot that is spamming your DMs? Continue here.

If you are here, you might have received a DM from a Custom-Bot hosted at SCNX. As part of Custom-Commands (and other modules), we allow users to send DMs to users. Because we not only value our customers, but every user on Discord, we take action if we feel like a guild is abusing their power (e.g. sending to many DM-messages). If we detect abuse, we add a "Report abuse"-button to every DM-message that leads to this page and cannot be removed by the administrators.

Automatic bot banning

In certain scenarios (such as high numbers of suspicious spam messages), SCNX will take immediate action to protect users, including issuing automatic account, bot and server deactivations.

In this case, SCNX recognized the Spam and added a "Report spam" button which leads customers to this page with additional information.

What is spam or DM abuse?

Here are some violations of messages that violate our policy:

  • Sending messages without prior consent.
  • Sending mass-DMs, e.g. messaging all members on your server.
  • Sending Advertisement or Spam messages without consent.
  • Sending inappropriate content as DMs.

Report violations

You can submit your report to us directly via E-Mail: [email protected] or by using our webform.

Please include pictures of your DMs with a Custom-Bot, the ID of the server the bot is from, and any other content associated with your case. Our legal staff will review your case within 24 hours and take action if we find a violation. We'll confirm that we have received your email and share the result of our investigation.

What will happen to bots that abuse DMs?

If our team or our automated system finds a violation of this or other policies, we'll take immediate action, usually consisting of disabling the associated server from SCNX, meaning that the hosted bot will go offline. In addition, we might also deactivate the SCNX Account of the bot owner. The affected user will receive a notification about the action taken. These actions are made in accordance with our Terms of Service. Depending on the severity, we might allow the bot owner to appeal a decision, but this might not always be the case.

As a Server-Owner, can I remove the "Report abuse"-Button?

No. This is not possible. The button will appear under messages if you are sending to many messages in a short period of time or if our system finds other patterns of abuse.

These are clear indicators of abuse, which violates our Terms of Service. We add a button to allow Discord users to immediately report abuse to us. This is necessary to protect all Discord users.

You cannot remove the button. The button can also not be removed by our support staff, so please avoid contacting them regarding the button.
