Welcome to our Discord server!
To ensure the safe conduct of all authorized activities, we have established some rules for behavior on our Discord server here. These apply in addition to and supplement the Discord Terms of Service, Discord Community Guidelines and the SCNX Terms of Service. Violations of these guidelines will not only be punished with a ban but also reported to the respective party.
We reserve the right to change these rules at any time. Generally, team members are always authorized to give instructions and may deviate from these rules in individual cases. Ignorance - who would have thought - does not protect against punishment.
Should you recognize a violation of these rules and wish to report it, please do so by either reporting a user with
/report or by messaging our Modmail bot ScootKit Modmail#9398 (listed at the very top). If this is not possible,
messaging individual moderators via DM is possible.
Behavior on our Server
- Please only write in English. If you want to write in German, we have an German server for that. We do not have the capacity to moderate further languages.
- Any discrimination, bullying, insulting, harassing, or abusing other server members (and also team members) will not be tolerated (regardless of whether in private messages or server chats).
- Sensitive content (e.g., drugs, sexual abuse, illegal activities) may not be discussed on our server, but feel free to use private messages for this.
- Always be friendly and respectful.
- Sexual, violent, or otherwise sensitive content has no place on our server.
- Respect blocks and do not use the server for private discussions - accordingly, do not ping anyone and/or ask why they blocked you - every user has the right to block other people - even without a reason - so respect that.
- Private data is private. You may not publish private messages, information, photos, or details of server members. Personal data such as phone numbers or addresses will always be deleted and punished.
- Note the following: Even if something is a joke to you, it may not be to others. Accordingly, avoid jokes that could be misunderstood. Jokes based on appearance, origin, nationality, gender, sexual preferences, religious affiliations, or disabilities are an absolute no-go and lead to permanent exclusion.
- Do not troll on our server. Small jokes are okay, but don't overdo it. The same applies to role-playing - to a small extent not prohibited, but do not overdo it.
- Do not organize raids against us or against others. This is an absolute no-go and will be immediately reported to Discord, even if it was only meant "as a joke".
- Please do not ping team members or team roles unnecessarily. Here are some examples of what this means:
- A raid is happening. You ping @Moderator. Everything okay, nothing wrong done.
- The website is not working for you, you ping @Simon. However, here you would receive a timeout because you should report to #support, as not only Simon can help.
- You cannot wait for an answer and ping the team / a team member. This is not only disrespectful but also extremely unnecessary: We read all messages, after all, we have to moderate. Accordingly, you can look forward to a timeout.
- Do not message our team members, moderators, and helpers via DM regarding problems or questions about ScootKit services (i.e., Discord, SCNX, etc.). Use #support.
- Do not spread chain letters (German link). This includes, for example, warnings about alleged "hackers" or similar. Calls for further distribution are one of the distinguishing factors of chain letters, as is an attempted @everyone ping, however, our team decides on a case-by-case basis whether a chain letter exists.
- Do not try to evade punishments (includes alt accounts).
- Do not use alt accounts to receive level rewards twice.
- All these rules also apply to nicknames, bios, and user profiles.
- Use #support if you have questions about ScootKit services. Only message the Modmail bot if you want to contact our mod team or have a question about payments or advertising on SCNX.
Punishments
- Basically, punishments are assigned case-specifically based on the assessment of moderators - moderators can either first give a verbal warning (simply in chat, does not count as a warn), issue a formal warn, or take direct action.
- Based on formal warns, punishments are then automatically assigned:
- With 2 warns: 24 hours Timeout
- With 3 warns: 7 days Timeout
- With 4 warns: Permanent Ban
- Formal warns automatically expire after 2 months and no longer count towards the punishments mentioned above.
Unban Requests / Appeal
Appeal against Warns, Timeouts, and Comparable Measures
Please contact ScootKit Modmail#9398 and describe either why you believe the measure was unjustified or explain how
you will behave better in the future. If possible, our team will assign the ticket to a moderator who was not directly
involved in your punishment. This independent moderator will then review the facts and can decide whether the measure
should be lifted.
Appeal against Bans
If you have been banned, it will be difficult to message the bot as you are no longer on the server. Therefore, there is
an Unban Server. Please join there and message the Modmail bot
ScootKit Modmail#9398 via DM. Please state why you want to be unbanned. If possible, our team will assign the ticket
to a moderator who was not directly involved in your punishment. This independent moderator will then review the facts
and can decide whether the measure should be lifted.
Do not join the original Discord with an alt account. This can massively reduce your chances of being unbanned. Please also do not ask friends to join to ask about it.
Abuse of Authority
Moderators are also human and are not always able to make independent / unbiased decisions. Therefore, appeals are
always evaluated and reviewed by third-party moderators. If you feel that a moderator is abusing their authority,
message ScootKit Modmail#9398. Please note that the moderator can also see your message there. If this is a problem in
your case, message [email protected], where we can guarantee anonymity.
Advertising
Unsolicited advertising is a no-go, whether in DM or server chat. What counts as this is a matter of opinion. Generally, it is recommended to advertise in #self-promotion (obtainable via Self-Roles). Should the advertising content represent any dubious scam sites, these rules do not apply, and we will ban without mercy.
Posting invite links will not only be blocked but will lead to an automatic timeout which will not be lifted.
The following always counts as advertising for us:
- Posting an invite link / advertising text, regardless of the discussion in the chat.
- Private messages with an invite link / advertising text if the recipient has not consented. Even messaging with something like "Hey, don't you want to join my server" is prohibited. DM advertising always leads to a ban due to the high number of bots on Discord.
- Posting affiliate links, regardless of the context.
- "Hidden advertising", even if it is part of the discussion, e.g., "Ah, I see, your server is down. Have you heard of BadHost24?".
- Creating a discussion to circumvent these rules: "Oh wow, I can't believe it, I'm giving away 90% of my income" and then providing the server invite upon request.
The following, however, is completely okay:
- It is about different hosting providers and you link one.
- A user asks what a partner list looks like on other servers and how it is used, and you link your server to show it.
Essentially, we can only say that we will weigh on a case-by-case basis, when in doubt, just ask. We point out that advertising that says "this is not advertising" or "is not meant to be advertising" is not magically exempt from these rules.
About Raids
As a "medium-sized" Discord server, we are sometimes confronted with hundreds of accounts joining in a short time. Unlike other servers, we do not immediately ban every single one of these accounts (apart from the raid organizer) but automatically assign them a role. As soon as one of these accounts violates a rule, all accounts will then also be automatically banned. If you joined in the middle of a raid and have such a role but are not part of the raid, please message our Modmail.
Conclusion
Basically, being on our server is not your right, but a privilege. We can (and will) under certain circumstances restrict and revoke this privilege if you have violated these rules. Furthermore, you should always use your (hopefully) common sense and treat everyone as you want to be treated. Our team always has the final say and may moderate at their own discretion.
